Featured Senior Session | Expressions Exposed Photography

Hey there! Today we are featuring a senior session from Tonya Tomory of Expressions Exposed Photography, located in Pittsburg, KS. Here is what Tonya had to say about her session!

Please describe the session: “They don't call it "The Sunflower State" for nothing! Meet Miss Jayden Willard, currently a senior at Jayhawk-Linn High School in Mound City, KS. Jayden is heavily involved in her school, sports, community, and church. With versatile interests and style, she was up for showcasing some different elements and looks that made the most of hidden gems here on the eastern side of the state. We began last summer with a series at a local county fair carnival. Fair fun is something most high schoolers in these parts look forward to each year and serves as a last hoorah of summer before heading back into the school year. Our next concept came with an idea for a more monochrome look with a pop of color. While I envisioned salt flats, we got creative and used a local rock quarry to create the neutral toned rock surface affect. The final stop of Jayden's senior session was downtown and rural Lawrence - home of the KU Jayhawks! The downtown colors and enrichment of Mass Street contrasted perfectly with the sunglow and beautiful backlighting we closed out with at Grinter Farms Sunflower Field. Enjoy some highlights of this gorgeous girl's senior session!”

Tell us about the gear used: “This session was shot using all natural light with a Nikon D750 body and Nikon f/1.8 50mm lens.”

What inspired this session? “Magazines, Instagram, and Jayden's natural beauty served as inspiration in designing our session.”

Thank you for sharing, Tonya! You can see more of Tonya’s work on Facebook & Instagram!
