Today’s featured senior session comes to you from Mandy Pasker of ML Studios Photography, located in Delhi, Iowa. Here is what Mandy had to say about her session!
Please describe the session for us:
“As a senior photographer, I tend to get in my groove during the summer/fall months and then when winter rolls around, my wheels start spinning and I get the itch to shoot something fun, something different, and just for me. So when I had a vision for a winter shoot, I couldn’t wait to style it to perfection! This particular shoot took place on a 30 degree winter day in Iowa, in a rural setting. I placed the models amongst the pines and grassy field I chose for the location. It was a joy seeing my vision come to life with my two models, as they could not have looked any more stunning! For Aleah (the model in the wine colored gown) we went a little more ‘glam’ and for Chloe (model in the emerald gown) went a little more organic princess! Their makeup was exactly as I had envisioned, and I styled the girls’ hair to coincide with their looks. The images have an enchanting and glamorous feel, and the rich colors and light that day just made the images pop!”
Tell us about the gear used:
Canon 5D Mark III
Canon 135mm 2.0
Canon 85mm 1.8
Sigma 50mm 1.4
What inspired this session?
“My inspiration for this shoot simply came from a vision I had in my head of glamorous royal looks and a certain color palette, that included rich colors, golden winter light! I have always wanted to do a winter styled shoot, since I live in Iowa, and even though some of the snow melted just before the session took place, I am still excited about how it turned out! I had visualized a certain style of dress and set out to find my model via snapchat because I knew that someone out there had ‘the dress’ I was looking for! So I posted my criteria and within a day I actually ended up with the 2 models, instead of just one, because their dresses they messaged me worked SO perfectly together!”
