A North Carolina Senior Session

Today’s featured senior session comes to you from Katie Myrick Photography, located in Elizabeth City, NC!

Here is what she had to say about this session:

“Tyler is such an all American guy. He is quarterback of his high school football team, avid surfer, guitar player and awesome brother to his 6 siblings. His mom contacted me because she wanted Tyler’s senior portraits to reflect who he is right now. He is most at home with his toes in the sand and sweating it out on the football field so I knew we just had to incorporate both into his session. The football field and beach is about 30 minutes apart so it took some serious time management and planning to insure we had the best light possible for his pictures.”

Gear used: Nikon D700, 85mm f/1.8, 50mm f/1.4

Inspiration: “This session was all about Tyler and incorporating all of his loves into his photo session. This was my first session featuring a senior guy so I was pretty nervous not knowing if he would be receptive to having his pictures taken. He did awesome! I think the fact that we kept him involved in the process and kept the locations and props all about who he is right now really helped.”

When asked about herself and her business, Katie said “I’m Katie Myrick, of Katie Myrick Photography, based out of Elizabeth City, NC. I am in the process of rebranding and will only be marketing to Seniors starting next year. My goal is to give my seniors an awesome experience, have fun, showcase who they are right now and make sure they know how truly special they are. After all, I don’t want to be everybody’s photographer, I want to be their photographer. :)”
