Today’s featured session is a fabulous one and comes to you from Photography By Kelly Klatt of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Kelly had so much to share with our readers about her Senior Model session which included 14 girls from 4 different high schools and 2 unique themes. And keep scrolling because she also gave us a “behind the scenes” video to share with you!!
“Every year I try to come up with 2 unique looks…things that are a bit out of the box, but not so weird that they can’t fit into my portfolio!
Having specific themes makes it much easier to convey wardrobe ideas to my seniors.
I chose the theme ‘Hippie in the USA’ because the ‘grungy flag’ look is everywhere right now…and I knew the girls would love it.
The ‘Little Black Dress’ theme was inspired by the show Pretty Little Liars. I wanted the ‘set’ (aka: my garage) to look like a combo of a runway model shoot + a behind the scenes music video!
I use this yearly model shoot as my main source of marketing. “
Lighting for ‘Little Black Dress’
*Large Octobox Main light
*Umbrella Light fill
*Bare Bulb backlight (all Alien Bee)
*Stage Lighting was rented*
All hair and makeup was provided by a local salon: LUX salon of Monticello, MN
We had 2 makeup artists & and 3 hair stylists working in my studio for a few hours!
Leave us your thoughts and keep those sessions coming!
